My Current Projects
Spoiler Alert! Here’s a sneak peak of the projects and pieces I’m currently working on.
Lion Painting: Yet to be named, this piece is the largest painting I have done yet. Due to its size I decided to make a canvas from scratch. I started with an acrylic base, before building up detail with oil paints. This painting draws inspiration from many things: the character Aslan from Narnia, Bible reference of the Lion of Judah, and a childhood love of big cats. In turn I think it is a representation of comfort and peace.
Sketchbook: I use this sketchbook while out and about. It helps me to practise my drawing skills without any pressure of messing up, and note ideas for future pieces. It is also a great way to document moments.
Card Designs: I'm constantly working on new card designs as seasons change. At the moment I'm preparing for Easter as well as working on some birthday designs.
Testing New Materials and Techniques: I received a toned grey sketch paper pad for Christmas and have started experimenting with this. I thought these black and white pastel pencils would create a good contrast with the grey creating a sketch focusing on the subjects shadows and highlights.
Hobbies: If you're anything like me you know what its like to have a never-ending list of hobbies and subsequent projects to complete. Not to mention all the ones I have yet to start! However, this means I always have something to do just for fun and separate from the art I do for work, preventing burnout. I'm currently working on some crocheting projects, building Lego, colouring, and playing Switch games during the cosy season.
